GENERAL
UnDavos Association (“unDavos”, “we”, “us” and/or “our”) is an association in the sense of Art. 60 ff. of the Swiss Civil Code. The core function of unDavos is to promote and support entrepreneurship by serving as a connecting gateway for startup founders, advisors, partners, media and investors. To do that, unDavos runs several projects, including unDavos Venture Days.
UnDavos Venture Days websites (including all websites to which this Privacy Policy is posted, the “Site”) are operated by unDavos Association. This Site provides, among other things, information about our team, organization and application process, tools for founders, investors and press to submit applications and go through the application process, and select profiles of individuals and companies that have participated in the unDavos events (collectively the “Service”).
unDavos processes your Personal Information (defined below) in compliance with the provisions under the Swiss Data Protection Act ("DPA") and General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"), as amended from time to time (collectively "Regulation"). This Privacy Policy explains what Personal Information we collect, how we use and share that data, and your choices concerning our data practices.
Before using the Service or submitting any Personal Information to unDavos, please review this Privacy Policy carefully and contact us if you have any questions. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, please do not access the Site or otherwise use the Service.

PERSONAL DATA DO WE COLLECT
We collect information that alone or in combination with other information in our possession could be used to identify you (“Personal Information”) as follows:
  • Personal Information You Provide: We may collect Personal Information when you subscribe to our newsletter, sign up for an event, or communicate with us as follows.
  • Event Information: If you attend one of our events, or if you sign up to attend one of our events, we will collect Personal Information, which includes your name, email address, occupation, LinkedIn profile, location (city and country), interest-based data, the name and a description of your company or your fund and other information that we will use to manage, optimize and administer your participation in our various events (“Event Information”).
  • Application Information: If you submit an application to unDavos Venture Days, Personal Information related to your application is governed by our Application Privacy Policy available at https://undavos.ch/app. In the event of any conflict between the Applications Privacy Policy and any other portion of this Privacy Policy or our Terms of Use, the Applications Privacy Policy will control.
  • Communication Information: When you subscribe to our newsletter or otherwise communicate with us, we may collect your name, contact information, and the contents of any messages you send (“Communication Information”).
  • Personal Information We Collect Through Our Social Media Pages: We have pages on social media sites like Instagram, Facebook, Medium, Twitter, YouTube and LinkedIn (“Social Media Pages”). When you interact with our Social Media Pages, we will collect Personal Information that you elect to provide to us, such as your contact details (“Social Information”). In addition, the companies that host our Social Media Pages may provide us with aggregate information and analytics regarding the use of our Social Media Pages.
  • Personal Information We Receive Automatically From Your Use of the Service: When you visit, use, and interact with the Service, we may receive certain information about your visit, use, or interactions (“Technical Information”). For example, we may monitor the number of people that visit the Site, peak hours of visits, which page(s) are visited, the domains our visitors come from (e.g., google.com, yahoo.com, etc.), and which browsers people use to access the Service (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Internet Explorer, etc.), broad geographical information, and navigation pattern.
PURPOSE OF COLLECTING PERSONAL DATA
We may use Personal Information for the following purposes:
  • To provide and administer access to the Service;
  • To grant access to and track attendance at our events;
  • To inform you about services or events we believe might be of interest to you;
  • To administer promotions and surveys you choose to participate in, as required by applicable law (for example, to provide a winners list or make required filings), or in accordance with the rules of the promotion or survey;
  • To respond to your inquiries, comments, feedback, or questions;
  • To send administrative information to you, for example, information regarding the Service and changes to our terms, conditions, and policies;
  • To analyze how you interact with our Service;
  • To maintain and improve the content and functionality of the Service;
  • To develop new programs and services;
  • To prevent fraud, criminal activity, or misuses of our Service, and to ensure the security of our IT systems, architecture, and networks; and
  • To comply with legal obligations and legal process and to protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property, and/or that of our affiliates, you, or other third parties.

HANDLING & STORAGE OF DATA
Storage and deletion of personal data
UnDavos never saves or keeps active your personal data for longer than is necessary for their respective purposes or is necessary for the purposes of other legitimate interests. We do not and will not sell your Personal Information.

Scope of data processing, data security
UnDavos relies on data exchange to offer its services and fulfill its mission. UnDavos is conscious of the problems that dealing with sensitive data presents. UnDavos is committed to continuously checking the correctness and completeness of its data, and updates it on an ongoing basis. Data collection and processing complies with the requirements of the DPA, the GDPR and the federal law on unfair practices (Bundesgesetz gegen den unlauteren Wettbewerb; SR 241). Data is collected whenever this is necessary for UnDavos to perform its purpose. UnDavos takes appropriate precautions to guarantee the security of its data.

Forwarding of data to third parties
Sometimes it is necessary for us to share your personal data with another organization or a data processor in order to provide our services. A data processor is a company that deals with the information on our behalf in accordance with our instructions.
Certain data processors may be within Switzerland but they may be located in any country worldwide. If we transfer data to a country without adequate legal data protection, we ensure an appropriate level of protection as legally required or we rely on the statutory exceptions of consent, performance of contracts, the establishment, exercise or enforcement of legal claims, overriding public interests, published personal data or because it is necessary to protect the integrity of the persons concerned.
unDavos will share your Personal Data if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to (i) comply with a legal obligation, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements, (ii) protect and defend our rights or property, (iii) prevent fraud, (iv) act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of the Services, or the public, or (v) protect against legal liability. We can also share your personal data with sponsors, advisors and partner organizations.

Cookies
“Cookies” are small files which make it possible to store specific user-related details on the user’s computer or other terminal device while the user is visiting the website of UnDavos (www.basearea.swiss as well as other domains managed by UnDavos). UnDavos uses cookies to find out the frequency of use and the number of users of its website, and to present its range of services as conveniently, efficiently and attractively as possible. The website of UnDavos uses the following four types of cookies to identify the user during the period of his or her visit: Session cookies, Google analytics cookies, addthis cookies and google maps cookies. Session cookies are automatically deleted when the session is ended. Users can set their browser to disable cookies, restrict them to certain websites, or notify them as soon as a cookie is sent. Users can also delete cookies from their computer’s hard drive at any time. However, rejecting session cookies may make it more difficult or impossible to use this Site.

Google Analytics
This Site uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this Site. By using this Site, you consent to the processing of data about you by Google in the manner and for the purposes set out above. This Site may use the Google AdWords remarketing service to advertise on third party websites (including Google) to previous visitors to this Site. It could mean that we advertise to previous visitors who haven’t completed a task on this Site, for example using the contact form to make an inquiry. This could be in the form of an advertisement on the Google search results page, or a site in the Google Display Network. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on someone’s past visits to this Site. Of course, any data collected will be used in accordance with our own privacy policy and Google’s privacy policy. If you do not wish to participate in our Google AdWords Remarketing, you can opt out by visiting Google’s Ads Preferences Manager.

Social Media
In addition, we use plug-ins from social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Google+, Pinterest or Linkedin on Site as well as add this for social media sharing options. This is visible for you (typically based on the respective symbols). We have configured these elements to be disabled by default. If you activate them (by clicking on them), the operators of the respective social networks may record that you are on the Site and where on the Site you are exactly and may use this infor-mation for their own purposes. This processing of your personal data lays in the responsibility of the respective operator and occurs according to its data protection regulations. We do not receive any information about you from the respective operator.

Contact & data inspection
The provisions of Art. 8 federal law on data protection allows anyone to ask unDavos whether data is being held on them and to inspect this data. If you have any questions related to how we treat your personal data, would like to inspect and/or delete such data or unsubscribe to our newsletter, please contact info@undavos.ch.
In general, exercising these rights requires that you are able to prove your identity (e.g., by a copy of identification documents where your identity is not evident otherwise or can be verified in another way).
In addition, every data subject has the right to enforce his/her rights in court or to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority. The competent data protection authority of Switzerland is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.
We may amend this Data Protection Statement at any time without prior notice. The current version published on the Site shall apply.
